Submission and Review

The Review of Socio-Economic Research and Development Studies (ReSERDS) welcomes submissions that use an interdisciplinary approach in analyzing contemporary issues related to socio-economics and development. ReSERDS  uses a double- blind peer review process, wherein both the reviewers and the authors are anonymous to each other, in evaluating the scholarly merit of the submitted manuscript.

It is understood that the manuscripts submitted to ReSERDS must be the result of original work or research by the authors. At the time of submission, authors certify that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere nor under review by any other journals.

Once a manuscript is submitted to ReSERDS, the Editor-in-Chief makes an initial assessment of the submitted paper if it fits to the aims and scope of the journal. If it falls within the coverage of the journal, the manuscript will be subjected to a plagiarism checker to ensure originality of submission.

After the manuscript passes the initial assessment, it will be sent for peer-review to at least two referees. The authors will receive an email informing them that the manuscript will be sent for peer reviewed. If the manuscript does not pass the initial assessment, the authors will also receive an email. ReSERDS uses Open Journal System (OJS) that handles the online submission and review process. Authors who are interested to submit their research must register online and follow the submission process.

ReSERDS uses a double-blind review process. Both the authors and the reviewers will be anonymous. The authors do not know who the reviewers are and similarly the reviewers do not know the authors of the paper are. Authors must prepare their papers ready for double-blind review process. Please remove the name of the authors, institutions, email addresses and any other identification in the main text to adhere to the double-blind review process.

At least two reviewers will be invited to assess the scientific merit of the submitted paper. The title and abstract will be shared to the invited reviewers. Once reviewers agree to review, they are given 4 weeks to do the evaluation and submit the recommendation of the paper. Extension of the review process is duly granted if reviewers will request for an extension.

The referees will use the guidelines set by ReSERDS. Reviewers can get recognition in Publons for agreeing to review the papers submitted to ReSERDS. Based on the recommendation of the reviewers, the editor will decide either to accept, revise or reject the manuscript. The authors will be informed through email about the results of the review. If major or minor revisions are required, the manuscript will be sent back to the authors for necessary revisions and re-submission. When submitting a revised version, authors are required to submit another document detailing the responses to the comments and suggestions of the reviewers. Authors are given at most 4 weeks to submit the revised version of the paper.

Once the paper is accepted, the authors will an email that their paper has been accepted for publication. Similarly, the authors of manuscripts that will be turned down for publication will also be notified through email. ReSERDS reserves the right to keep copies of all submitted manuscripts.

The accuracy of the research results is the responsibility of the authors. The ideas, opinions, conclusions and recommendations expressed in the published articles are those of the authors and not necessarily those of the Editorial Board of ReSERDS.

ReSERDS has an open access policy. Full texts of published research articles are freely available and can be shared as long as proper citation and credit is used under the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution International License.

From 2017-2021, ReSERDS is published once a year, every December with 5 papers per issue. Starting 2022, two issues will be published per year with 5 articles per issue. First issue will be published in August and the second issue will be published in December. At least 5 papers will be published per issue. Once the paper has been accepted for publication, it will be first posted online. The printed version will be released in August and December of each year.
